Author: Anna Spence

Anna Spence graduated from Agnes Scott College with a BA in psychology. Influenced by the abstract expressionist paintings of Helen Frankenthaler, Anna began to experiment with non-narrative video in 2010. In 2014 she began her MFA in Visual Art at Lesley University of Art and Design. Combining insights from psychology with her experimental video aesthetic, Anna intentionally juxtaposes her characters with surreal situations and blurs the lines of humanity and reality. Through use of the uncanny, she hopes to explore the human psyche. Her video work has screened through Wonderroot's Mostly Local Filmmakers Night, Contraband Cinema, and the Atlanta Film Festival. She also organizes screenings with the local micro cinema, Contraband Cinema in ????
