David Cox is a writer and teacher based in San Francisco. His films include Puppenhead, Otherzone, and Tatlin. His books include Sign Wars: the Culture Jammers Strike Back, published via LedaTape. Archimedia is a research and design collaboration whose principals are Molly Hankwitz and David Cox. Archimedia's research focuses upon overlaps between digital media and urban space. Archimedia has authored numerous short films and presentations on situationist practice, precarious media, urban strechnology, wearable tech, diy broadcast, mapping and geo-locative filmmaking. Since 1998 we have participated in electronic art festivals Ars Electronica, fibreculture/Melbourne/Brisbane,This is Not Art, electrofringe, Straight Out of Brisbane, Multimedia Art/Asia Pacific, Let's Make the Web!, Augmented Reality Conference, Games Developer Conference, City Centered: Festival of Wireless Art and Locative Media, Non Profit Software Developers Conference, and Augmented World Expo. Current projects include several experimental film scripts, short filmic works/installations, the ongoing portable projection cart, diy wearable computing, and a hybrid-intelligent city.
