OtherZine #31, Fall 2016 Issue will be published the first week of September!
This issue, OtherZine #31 is especially interested in a cinema of ideas—of generative proposals,
as in speculative futures–and also in analysis and deconstruction, and how these may be brought about in the world of the senses,
in audio-visual terms…and in the film essay in particular! A special interest may also be in language–text and vox–
towards radical-subjectivity, perspective, and certainly argument to include multiple valences included within.
July 5, 2015 – Proposals for OtherZine 31 to be received by Midnight.
A Proposal can include (but certainly is not limited to) a description, outline, incomplete draft, schematic,

OtherZine is the semi-annual webzine of Other Cinema, microcinema of experimental film,
“live cinema”, and video art in San Francisco’s Mission District. Whether avant-garde or engagé,
OtherZine’s emphasis is on the radical subjectivities and sub-cultural sensibilities that find expression
in marginalized cinematic genres, media-archaeological efforts, the alternative “gaze”
as well as contemporary intermedia hybrids. We encourage cinema-related writings
and artists’ projects that support these endeavors and other explorations in radical,
experimental media culture: articles, essays, interviews,
reviews (art, books, media events), rants, video(s),
illustration, manifesto, text/image, and other!
